3rd grade.......How Did It Come So Quickly!!!

I just got done walking my brave little girl to her first day of Third grade.  Oh. My. Gosh.  Every year I think it is going to get easier, but it just doesn't.  It's so hard to watch my baby grow up so quickly.  I cry every year.  I hold it and act strong until she is gone and then I lose it.  I sob.  I literally cry until I have no more tears.   Part of my tears are sadness for time moving so quickly, but mostly I cry because I am so proud of her.  It is so amazing to watch her enter these new steps in her life with such confidence.  She is such an amazingly beautiful, smart, confident girl.  Sometimes I just don't believe she is mine.

This year Alexa is in an advanced learning class.  I am so proud of her.  At the end of her second grade she tested in the top 5% of her class. Because of that, she is in a class this year with both 3rd and 4th graders.  I'm so stinking proud of her.  She CLEARLY didn't get her brains from me. :)  When I was in 3rd grade, if I had to march up to a bunch of 4th graders and get in line for class with them, I would have been so nervous.  Not Alexa, she ran up with a huge smile on her face, anxiously waiting to see what the next step in life was going to bring.

So here's to the next step in your life Alexa.  I love you!  I hope you have the best year yet!

Bon Voyage Morgan Shae Glover

My little Morgan leaves for Belgium tomorrow. We are going to miss her so much while she is gone, but I am so very proud of her.

The other day I was looking through my memory box and I found this book Moog made  for me when she was little.  It is so cute that it makes my heart hurt a little.

Ecselent Linsie...By Morgan Shae Glover

My aunt is ecselent (I love the way she spells excellent.  heehee)

She can play volley ball

She always bys the biggest ice cream.

She works at alcoo

She can quilt.

She can do sloppy buns.

She tells funny stories.

She has lots of cats.

She can cook good.

She lets you do enything.

She is nice.

As I was reading this book about her "ecsellent aunt linsie" it hit me how ironic it is that my little adoring niece who looked up to me for so many years is now the person whom I look up to.  She has grown into such an amazing, beautiful, talented, smart, genuinely awesome person and I am proud to say she is my niece. I love you Morgan!  I am so proud of you.  I can't put it into words how much I admire and respect you for who you are and what you have done with your life so far.  I hope you have the time of your life in Belgium Moog.

Bon Voyage!!!

Mother of Dork-wad

Alexa always says the funniest things.  This morning she says to me "Mom, I am going to change your name to "Mother of Dork-wad".  I am also going to change Grandma Kathy's name to "Mother of Three Dork-wads."

What a funny girl.  I love my little dork-wad.
