I'll miss you Alexa Rae!!!

Well everyone, today is my last day as a stay at home mom. Monday I officially start work and Alexa starts going to pre-school. I am having a really hard time closing this door to my life. I have loved staying home and being with Alexa so much. I am going to miss it a lot more than I realized at first. I have found myself getting quite emotional today when I really think about all the times I am going to miss. I have spent almost every minute of the last two years with my beautiful girl, and I don't know if I will even know how to spend a day without her right by my side asking questions about everything and driving me crazy.

I would like to end this with a little tribute to my baby girl by listing my favorite things about her. these are the things I am going to miss the most during the days when I am not with her.

1. Waking up to her whispering my name and tapping me on the shoulder.(so annoying, but I love it so much :)
2. Watching kid shows and cuddling every morning.
3. That beautiful smile!
4. Her many questions about everything she sees. It is so awesome to watch her look at the world and wonder.
5. Reading the Ice Cream felt board story. She loves it because when we finish we always see who can "eat" the most ice cream. She always wins!
6. Her uncontrollable gut roll laugh. I haven't realized it until now, but I live for that laugh every day.
7. As much as it drives me crazy, I am going to miss her changing every five minutes into a different princess dress. I love the way she walks up the stairs every time and says "how do I look? aren't I pretty?" I just hope she realizes how very right she is when she says that.
8. Her annoying sense of humor. She thinks she is so funny. If I say "clean up your room please." she will say "your face is my room" I am pretty sure that she is the only one who finds this funny, but that is what makes it so dang cute.
9. She has such a sweet spirit. She can't even find Americas Funniest Home Video's funny because she feels so bad for the people that get hurt. I love that about her.
10. I think right now, the thing I love about her the most, is that when we told her that we were going to look at places for her to go play during the day while I went to work, she got a really sad look on her face and said "I am going to miss you"

If only she knew how much I was going to miss her. I love you Lex! Your an amazing girl and I have been so lucky to be able to spend so much time with you that last couple of years.

Do you think she got her sense of humor from her mom? What a dang cool chick! If it makes you feel better I read an article about a study that showed that kids who had a least one year of day care or preschool before kindergarted did better in school. Both academically and socially. So you're doing the right thing!!
